Pros And Cons Of Electric And Gas Pressure Washers

By Scott Rodgers

You can get a variety of pressure washers in market. They vary because of certain features such as: power methods, temperature options, heating methods, pressure levels, flow rates and mobility. The most preferred model among all is power method. If you want to go with it then choose any one among electric pressure washers, gas pressure washers and propane pressure washers. All these power methods have pros as well as cons and here we will discuss that.

Weight: Electric washers do not have much weight as they don't need to carry gasoline or propane tanks along with them. But one limitation of electric pressure washers is that you need to have an electrical outlet for plugging it. This makes them perfect for just indoor applications where you can easily get an electrical source.

Noise: Electric pressure washers are less noisy as compared to their counterparts, gas and propane. This too makes electric-powered equipment ideal for indoor locations where the level of noise must be taken into consideration.

Exhaust: Also electric equipment does not emit harmful gases like gas and propane pressure washing equipments. This fact also makes them suitable for indoor applications. As gases are emitted in gas units so they should be used outdoors or in a well-ventilated area.

Power: High-powered motor of gas and propane pressure washers makes them very powerful. People who want a powerful model in electric pressure washers should choose one among the best models as they offer high pressure levels and flow rates.

Mobility: Since an electric machine needs an electrical connection, it is not ideal for outdoors and other places where there is no power supply. At such places, gas and propane pressure cleaning equipment should be used. These are also known as mobile pressure washers. You should never try using electric pressure cleaning equipment with cord extenders, as this method is unsafe.

Ease of Use and Maintenance: You do not need to spend much time for maintaining your electric pressure washers but gas and propane pressure cleaning equipment do need some maintenance. Also electric pressure washers are easier to operate. You simply need to turn on the power supply and after that you can start using the equipment. But operating gas and propane equipment is quite difficult. However, because of their advanced power offerings many people prefer these units.

You should choose the pressure cleaning machine depending upon the purpose for which you intend to use it. For indoor, commercial purposes, an electric pressure washer might be ideal.
