School Sports, Cool Clubbers and Online Fundraising

By Sarah Farfalla

Math Club, Basketball Team, PTA, Choir - these are just a few of the high school groups that try hard, every year to earn money for their organizations.

If you have ever been part of one of their events you actually know that traditional nonprofit fund raising strategies follow an assembly-line like process that includes gathering volunteers, coming up with this season's profit generating idea, planning, coordinating and handling the associated activities. It's a large amount of work for a one time result.

What if you were able to boost donations reduce overhead, and generate dollars year 'round using fund raising programs you are comfortable with? All you have to do is add a shake of kinetic zing to your next campaign, and Think Web!

Using one or two of the follow suggestions, which stand as a mere sample of what's available on the web, will raise your seasonal revenues, automate the assembly-line nature of the game, and offer a window to reach a much more extensive audience of potential interested parties:

- Place a PayPal Donate button on your school's, or club web site, or its Facebook page.
- Use the power of eBay's Giving Works programme to boost earnings by having a portion of each sale given to your group, when a Seller has identified your association as a recipient.
- Become an Amazon Associate and earn commissions on any product available on its web site.
- Sell items like t-shirts, mugs and key chains, by way of pre-designed internet sites from online corporations like CafePress and Zazzle. Even specialize the merchandise with your team's logo or slogan.
- Offer candy, mags, coupon books and the like by establishing an account with school product sites like FastTrack Fund-raising.
- Sign up as an affiliate on your top internet sites, or through associate networks like Clickbank, Google Affiliates, Commission Junction, and LinkShare, then use their provided links to sell items to all those on your e-mail, Facebook and Twitter lists.

Whether you're technologically challenged or a President of your school's Technology Club, your non profit group can earn money and collect donations quick and easy using the Internet. So try one of the above suggestions or come up with your own. Just give it a shot and have a bit of fun!
