Yorkie Bichon Mix

By Lindsay Kluss

It might sound a bit odd but there is nothing great about a Yorkie Bichon mix dog cropping up over time taking into consideration the large number of dog breeds popping up, both intentionally and unintentionally. But what this means for god owners is something totally different of course.

Well if you are one those people who are looking for a Yorkie Bichon mix but are not sure whether you really want one, and are also not sure what the dog would grown up to be like, then it turns out that you are not the only one in this dilemma. There is no person who can correctly and accurately estimate what a mixed breed dog would turn up to be like, and this fact is true in for all mixed breed dogs.

Sometimes there is a chance that the dog could turn up just like their Bichon Frise mother/father or like their Yorkie father/mother. For a Yorkie Bichon mix it is not necessary that the parents have to be of a particular breed, i.e. unlike a Puggle dog it is not required that there must be a Bichon Frise mother and a Yorkie Father, or vice versa. It can a mix of either of them as long as the parents are pure bred.

This is one of the reasons why it is tricky to breed a mix breed dog. As no one dog breeder has the entire lineage of a dog going back hundreds of years, it can be quite difficult to find out whether or not the ancestors of the parents themselves cross bred at some point in the past. The problem is that in some cases genetic defects may hide themselves for a few generations, and might come back to affect the dog at the point when the dog breeders are about to cross breed the dogs.

The resulting dog can be one of the cutest things that you have ever seen, or it can be a hodgepodge of odds and ends. This however is very rare in good breeding programs, and if you want a good Yorkie Bichon mix then most likely you will get a good combination of a Yorkie Bichon mix.

What then would be the characteristics of such a dog, never mind the features of the dog? Well, unfortunately that too is not as easy to tell beforehand and most owners will have to wait to see what their Yorkie Bichon mix puppy grows up into: a predominantly Yorkie mix dog, or a predominantly Bichon mix dog. Whatever you do end up with though, you can be assured that you will get a warm and affectionate dog who is very loyal to you, and you really can't ask for any more than that can you?
