Mess can be your biggest foe in regards to decorating your home. No matter what style of furniture or accessories you have, a room isn't going to look its best if you have lots of random objects taking up space. Furthermore, de-cluttering a room doesn't cost you anything!

The entire atmosphere of a room can be altered by changing the way the windows are covered. Remember that windows and what covers them are not only decorative in themselves, but they're also involved with the lighting of a room, at least during the day. That's why you should choose these accessories carefully, and also remember to make full use of them. You don't want heavy drapes preventing the morning sun from entering your room, for instance. Curtains and other window decorations can be found quite reasonably. There's no reason you have to buy new curtains (unless you can find some you like at a good price), so check thrift shops, flea markets and online auctions for good used ones.

You can have a good time decorating your home on a budget as you're saving money. While it's nice to be able to buy whatever you want, it can also be satisfying to be creative and make the most out of what you can afford. As you experiment and let your imagination run wild, you'll start to think like a decorator and then you'll have no trouble thinking up great ideas of your own.
