Some Excellent Jobs That Don't Require A 4-Year Degree

By Jason Millen

As our nation aims to become more energy-efficient and as our population gets older there are now several blue collar careers which we are going to be desperate to fill in the near future. Whether you have been laid off from a job in the past 12 months or you are just starting to enter the labor pool, it is often a smart idea to try to start in an area that has plenty of job openings and will be very popular in the upcoming decades. The employment situation across the United States is changing rapidly and people who thought their careers were always secure are now understanding that the morphing economic climate is shutting down some organizations in certain parts while it is producing new opportunities in others. Many hot in-demand careers no longer call for a college degree but they do still call for special education from a trade school or certified instruction center. With a small amount of education and dedication you can get started in one of these rising career fields right now:

Professional Plumber: Almost everywhere you go you are going to find that flowing water and constant electricity are the keys to a maturing and profitable economy and without these fundamental systems installed there can be no growth. New properties, older homes and practically any building built in the modern world not only demands new water lines ultimately, but the current plumbing has to be preserved and fixed by experienced plumbing companies. Dealing with pipes in drenched, dirty and damp locations does not seem like a lot of fun to many men and women, which is partly why certified plumbers will be in such high demand.

Locksmith Professional: To get going in the security field you really should take some basic locksmith training programs, obtain the appropriate locksmith certifications and then, dependent on where you are doing work you may need to do the job as an apprentice for several years before obtaining a locksmith license. Locksmith professionals are typically in demand from customers due to the serious emphasis on protection and locks we have at the moment. A certified locksmith can certainly start his or her own business, work part-time to pick up some extra money or be hired by a private company to manage all their locksmith requirements.

Elevator Servicing Professionals: Developing to become an authority in elevator repair is a great way to have a lifelong job because existing elevators are nearly never eliminated and new elevators are installed in practically any structure that has 2 or more levels today. Specialists in elevator maintenance and installation are discovering that they are in high-demand because older structures always need their elevators repaired or replaced from time to time and newer buildings are installing more elevators than any other time. The aging Baby Boomer population is generating the demand for the installation of home elevators as more older people wish to remain in their existing residences but find navigating staircases to be difficult.

A considerable amount of unemployed and underemployed men and women are discovering that it is more satisfying to launch a new occupation than to continue in the field they were previously in. Starting out in one of these hot fields is not hard if you obtain the correct education and possess the desire to do our best to develop your talents and abilities. Of course, to be successful in these positions you need to acquire a specific level of skill and desire for the work you are doing, but you do not need a university or college degree or many years of training.
