How A Network Can Cause A Computer To Freeze Up

The frustrating experience for the pc users is when the pc crashes .PC can crash for various hardware and software issues. Network card can be the main culprit of this problem. If you observe that your pc freezes after inserting network card then it can be the network card that is creating the freezing problem .Network card's driver or hardware confliction can make it to make the computer freeze.

Every hardware of computer needs a driver to operate the hardware. Driver maintains the communication between the card and pc. Network card also needs a driver for communicate with pc. This driver can create the freezing problem. If the driver has a problem that can block the computer to work properly then freezing problem can happen. Updating device driver can solve the problem. For doing this, right click on my computer icon and go to device manager option .From the hardware list go to network adapter and select your network card and right click. Then update the driver clicking the update driver option. For updating driver you need an active internet connection. Hardware manufacturer releases the latest driver for their related hardware. You can download it from their website and manually update your network driver. Windows update can also make your driver outdated by applying patches to your operating system. Then the driver will be unable to work properly & can make your pc freeze.

Your driver may be corrupted for which reason the network card is not working properly and may be the reason for computer freezing. From the device manager if you see yellow icon beside network adapter tab then the driver may be corrupted or facing some problem to communicate with pc. Reinstalling the driver may solve the problem. Select the driver from device manager and right click, then uninstall it and restart the computer .Your PC will find the hardware automatically and allow you to reinstall the driver. Reinstall it and see if the problem is solved.

A new installed hardware can create malfunctioning problem for your network card .Then the network card can freeze the computer. So before installing hardware it should be made sure that the hardware will not create problem with your network card. Often the new hardware may share the same system resources with your network card. In this case it can interrupt the function of the network card. From computer management options check your system log to check for this kind of error. If this happens moving the hardware to different slot can solve the problem. Hardware confliction can make your network card to freeze your computer. The newly installed hardware's driver also can block your network card driver. Uninstall that new harware's driver and check if your computer can work properly without being crashed. If it can work properly then find a compatible version of that driver which will not create any problem.

If any of the above procedure does not do the job then your network card may have damaged. From gadget supervisor disable the system and check if your computer can job correctly without freezing. If it does then your network card was the key reason and if it is not a driver issue then your card must have damaged. Buy a new one and replace the old card. Your issue should be solved.
