Naples Wedding Planner - The Marriage Is Over, Now What Happens to The Wedding Outfit

By Carol Damon

It takes a lot of time choosing the perfect dress for your big day. The gown is generally fitted to the body with precision by a seamstress, in order that it fits superbly. Unfortunately, that generally means the wedding gown will never be used, and presumably not even seen in public, again. But there are several paths to recycle a wedding outfit, making all of the cost and effort seem more worthwhile. So , what do you with the bridal dress after the special day?

You Can Preserve It - Many younger girls dream their whole lives about wearing the same wedding dress their mother walked down the aisle in. So conserving the wedding ensemble so future daughters (or daughters-in-law) can use it is a very popular option. At this point the robe can be changed to fit and suit the taste of the new bride.

You Can Sell It - Local consignment shops, eBay and plenty of other places can help to sell unwanted wedding gowns, giving at least some kind of return on the money spent on it when it was brand spanking new. In today's economy, many women are endeavoring to trim down the budget of a wedding, but still want to keep many of the standard frills. Purchasing a second hand, once worn wedding dress can represent a huge saving. And if little changes are made before the important day then the dress can still be customised toward the new bride.

You Can Give It - Wedding ensembles can be donated to different charities to help someone else realize their dream. Donating your wedding outfit will release space for storage if you are not planning on holding onto it in the long term. And knowing you have helped someone else's day more special than it may have been is reward in itself.

As a Naples wedding planner I'm sure that a bride's day is not built solely on the look and type of her wedding outfit. Yes, it is a big part of the ceremony, and also helps to build anticipation, typically among the female guests who are attempting to guess the style that the bride might select. In the same vein memories of the marriage remain inside the bride's mind, regardless of the form of dress she was wearing. The continued reminders come from photographs and videos, even perhaps a special song that was played in the reception. But having a pricey bridal outfit gather dust in a box placed in the wardrobe does nothing to enhance the memories. So if you can bear to let it go, sharing the buzz of wearing that bridal gown with someone that is less financially well off than yourself may be a way of extending your pleasure just that bit longer.
