Is A Business Speaker Actually Equipped To Assist Your Company To Grow?

By Carole Hodges

A business speaker can generally convey their own experience and success to audiences. This success could be in the business world, for example successfully running or creating companies. It could be in the sporting world, for instance gold medal athletes or people that have climbed Mount Everest. Though a speaker may not be from the same background as your company, there are common situations and skills that are required in a variety of situations. One such common experience across a range of fields is how to constructively criticise without making people feel bad, ensuring they are encouraged to undertake changes. A further example is how to continually keep people focused and driven when there is a lot of difficult or lengthy work to be done. A speaker that can convey their own success is much more likely to inspire those addressed to strive for success.

Business speakers can help you to form a clear vision of where you want to take your company. Speakers can work with you to create tailored business strategies to assist your company in achieving its goals within designated deadlines. Speakers will assist you in correctly identifying the right target market for your company and will offer various marketing plans to attract that market. Plans to change your company's manufacturing, service and/or distribution can be formed by business speakers and these plans can help your company to save a lot of money.

In difficult economic periods a company needs to push its creativity to beat the competition, keep or increase its steady income and ensure their employees feel like valued team members. Employees of any level in the company can be influenced and inspired by a business speaker who has the right skills and experience. A speaker can lead teambuilding or leadership workshops or provide advice on customer service and communication. If your employees are better aware of how to take note of customer suggestions, this will improve your company. If the employees pass on customer wants and suggestions within the company, the company can provide products and/or services that customers require or would like. Brainstorming sessions are good to build up team work and encourage employees to communicate their own suggestions. Having company workshops helps to create and strengthen the loyalty employees feel towards a company as they feel like they are appreciated members of the company as opposed to nameless employees working below managers.

Each specific speaker will be more suited to some audiences than to others. A sales speaker for example will be beneficial for a sales team audience, but not nearly as beneficial to a technical support audience. Every business speaker should make sure their address is tailored to the audience at hand as opposed to using a generic address for all audiences. Do research on business speakers to find out if they have a proven track record of successful speaking. They might have written some books that you can read which will provide more information about them.

It's also good to get feedback on the speaker from those being addressed. Ask the people what useful things they learned from the speaker and implement these in your company. Find out what their favourite parts of the address were and if there were any boring parts. An audience will not pay attention to a boring or inefficient speaker, which means you don't get a good return on the money you invested by hiring the speaker. If you get the feedback through questionnaires you can keep it anonymous, which will encourage people to provide honest answers. In conclusion, if you utilise competent speakers they can be good for your business, helping it to meet goal deadlines and therefore thrive.
