An Exploration Of Dementia Care San Clemente

There are several severe medical conditions which can affect the brain. One of these mental difficulties is known as dementia. It is associated with a rapid decline in the individual's thinking, language, judgement, understanding, and memory abilities. Often an individual will be required to assist the patient in their daily life - this is seen in dementia care San Clemente

There are four different types: Alzheimer's disease, dementia with Lewy bodies, vascular, and frontotemporal. Alzheimer's occurs when protein begins to grow around the brain cells disrupting brain functioning. The condition with Lewy bodies occurs when abnormal structures are found in the brain. The vascular form happens when the blood and oxygen supply are not delivered to the brain causing the blood circulation in the brain to cease. Frontotemporal occurs when the temporal and frontal lobes begin to decrease in size. This final form is very unique and is found primarily in individuals over the age of 65.

The various forms have various causes and contributing factors.These causes and contributing causes include lack of exercise, alcohol and drug abuse, maintaining an unhealthy diet, and obesity. Frontotemporal dementia occurs is a hereditary disorder caused by a genetic mutation found in the individual's brain. The genetic mutation is a change in the tau protein - a protein in brain cells that controls the stability of the cell.

Various other causes can also include the following: dehydration, infections within the brain, brain tumors of any sort, not enough vitamin B, or repeated damage to the head. Furthermore, the disorder can be caused by other mental health conditions such as epilepsy or Huntington's disease.

The symptoms are various however there are certain signs which are common across all four forms. These are: problems sleeping, confusion, memory difficulties, concentration difficulties, movement difficulties, depression, hallucinations, and depression. Individuals suffering from the frontotemporal type may show some aggressive and compulsive behaviour accompanying the personality change.

This condition is incurable, progressive disease which continuously damages an individual's daily lifestyle. In order to cope with this detrimental condition it is necessary for one to enter the dementia care available.
