Dog Fence Austin And Local Laws

By Lesa Parker

Animal Authorities and some state laws show that pet owner's can no longer use tethers as a restraint. Some consider this to be cruel because some pets cannot get to shelter, food, and water. The local Animal Center has a new assistance program that helps owners correct violations. Dog fence Austin accepts donations for this specific assistance program.

Tethering is considered animal cruelty and thus if someone sees any act of cruelty, they can report it to local authorities. All animal attacks and bite have to be reported to authorities. Fencing is required to prevent things such as animal bites and cruelty. If a dog is found roaming the streets, local authorities will be called to pick up the dog.

All animal and dog bites has to be reported immediately to authorities. Rabies is a major threat to animals and humans in the local area. Owners of pets that have bitten or attacked someone must provide authorities proof of a current rabies shot.

If the pet does not have a current rabies shot, it must be watched over a specific amount of time to make sure it does not have any symptoms of rabies. Some animals that have bitten someone can be restrained at home to watch for sings of rabies. If any dog has symptoms of this virus, it will be put down.

All registered dangerous dogs in the city are never permitted to run at large. Owners must restrain their dog at all times and the dog must wear a large tag stating they are dangerous. If owners cannot afford fencing, they can apply for assistance to have one installed for free. If an owner refuses fencing, they could be in violation of city and state laws.

Having any type of fencing helps avoid injuries to other people and to the dog itself. If the pet is injured, the owner is responsible for any medical bills. Animal shelters and the city do not provide financial assistance for vet care for any animal that is owned. However, some vets have payment programs and other assistance programs to help with the cost of medical bills.

Dogs and animals in the city are required by law to be restrained on the owner's property at all times, except when the animal is in a specific area. If a dog is unleashed or unsupervised, it must be reported to local authorities. Dog fence Austin is assisting citizens by accepting fencing donations to offer them to citizens to correct violations.
