Plannig Out My Exciting Water Venture

By Franklin Mosentiff

The stress in life brought about by factors like work and traffic is taking its toll on me. Sometimes I simply want to escape all this. For me, the best way to do it is to go out to the open sea. There's nothing beats sailing into the open ocean with the balmy wind, sunshine, the clear blue skies, and the limitless azure over and above.

People might think that sailing is only for those who are experts and went long years of training but it's not totally true. Based on my experience, I can add that it is not as hard as it may seem. I signed up myself in a sailing school in order to know the basics and the safety measures while on the ocean and that was it.

Whenever I go into a sailing trip, I start with a plan and write it all down on paper; where I want to go, when's the best time go, how long I will be out at sea, and where to get a boat. As a beginner, I choose for day time sailing and the weather report for that day must be clear and sunny for I would not want get caught in a middle of bad climate. I search the internet ahead or call a sailing club to ask for safe and close locations. Pertaining to the sail boat, I am not super rich so setting up a private yacht is definitely out of my list. Our community marina happens to have vessels for rental that is within my budget. So I got the boat in check.

The next thing is the must-haves for the journey: food and drinks, money, charts and float plan (available in the school or licensed sailor), radio, first aid box, and sailing equipment. To get my sea legs going, I put on sailing shoes or sailing boots.

These sailing shoes or sailing boots help me to keep my balance when big waves rock the boat. As soon as everything is in check, I would be ready to get out into the great blue watery road of fun and relaxation.
